OK, it doesn't look like it, but Shadow Mountain is nearly in the middle of the city of Phoenix!  This northerly view looks from the trail to its summit (1928 ft elevation, 588m).  Part of the Preserve, it has numerous hiking trails and provides great views of the metro area from its top.  The stone here is all of age, consisting of a variety of rocks.
