Lower Cliff Dwellings at Tonto National Monument, near Globe, Arizona.

   Perched high in the cliffs at the eastern end of the Superstition Mountains, these Salado Culture ruins are the most visited feature within Tonto National Monument.  This set is known as the Lower Cliff Dwelling, and consists of sixteen rooms on the ground floor, and three on the second story.
   The large cave is eroded into the Dripping Springs , of age.  This unit forms many of the sheer vertical cliffs in the Tonto Basin area and the Sierra Ancha.
